Policies & Procedures

Relational Approaches is able to develop or revise policy documents, operational procedures, and best practice standards. This work can include background research, stakeholder consultations, and implementation reviews.

Policy Documents

A policy document is designed to set out an organisation’s intent to bring about specific outcomes.

Policies are the reference point for deciding which course of action employees should take. So a policy document is usually part of a complete package consisting of operational procedures and best practice guidelines. But it can also be produced as a stand-alone document.

When creating a new or revised policy document, Relational Approaches will consult with senior management, subject matter experts, employees who will be impacted by the changes, and, where necessary, legal advisors.

Operational Procedures

Organisations generally require step-by-step descriptions of how staff are to carry out their work. This kind of document is often put together over time by managers and frontline workers. But this can easily result in inconsistency, incompleteness and mistakes.

Relational Approaches can offer fresh eyes and a more systematic approach. Working in close consultation with the relevant staff, it will collate all of the necessary steps into a clearly presented and readily usable format.

Best Practice Standards

When an organisation is delivering a service or program, it will need a set of standards to which the practitioners should adhere, and by which its quality and safety can be assessed. These standards must conform to the organisation’s policies, and they should be embodied in any procedural guidance.

Relational Approaches can work with key stakeholders, including management, frontline staff and clients, to produce or revise a set of clear, consistent, and workable standards. This can be a stand-alone document or form part of a complete package that includes policies and procedures.
